Compass Group Ireland, a leading foodservices company, is celebrating the amazing achievements of its chefs at the Catex Exhibition this week, where they scooped a raft of medals.
The event, held at RDS Dublin, between February 26 and 28th, comprised of a number of competitions across various categories including Live Hot Theatre and Cold Salon to demonstrate the outstanding talent within the industry.
Five chefs from across Compass Group came together to showcase their talents and skills, giving an insight into the exceptional standards and quality of food that is served daily across the business. Between them, the chefs scooped 11 awards, including 2 Gold, 3 Sliver, 3 Bronze plus 3 ‘Best in Class Awards’
- Grzegorz Niewiadomski, Sous Chef, won a Gold and ‘Best in Class’ in the Open Lamb Class
- Bernard Treacy, Head Chef, won Sliver and ‘Best in Class’ for the Cold Starter Plates Category. Bernard produced four different individual starter course plates of his choice which had to be suitably garnished, glazed and decorated for the judges. Bernard also scooped a Sliver in the Live Open Duck Senior Class & Bronze in the Open Lamb Senior Class.
- Wan Bin Wan, Sous Chef, took home a Gold and ‘Best in Class’ in the Fruit & Vegetable Carving Static Category and a Sliver in the Live Skills Fruit Carving Category.
- Marcin Jaros, Chef de Partie, won Bronze in the Open Lamb Senior Class whilst Emma Corscadden, Commis Chef, won Bronze in the Irish Pork Junior Class.
