Compass Group Ireland (“Compass Group”), a leading foodservice provider, has today announced the creation of 350 casual jobs in Cork at the newly redeveloped sports stadium, Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
In addition, Compass Group will create seven full-time jobs in Cork to service the facility. The company, which is also the food partner for Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, secured the catering contract for the new state of the art, multi-purpose facility when it reopens in July.
A recruitment drive for all positions at Pairc Ui Chaoimh will begin next week. Roles to be filled include full time service team, while part time positions include Hospitality & Bar Managers / Supervisors, Chefs, Bar and Waiting Staff as well as Catering Assistants.
When the stadium reopens, there will be a range of dining options across the 7 hot-food kiosks, including “The Butcher’s Grill” serving prime Irish beef-burgers, and a pizza outlet offering both pizzas and sub sandwiches. For families enjoying a sporting day out, there will be bundled family offers and kids’ meal deals. The new stadium will feature upgraded hospitality facilities in the premium level, which will be available for both match days and corporate events.
Compass Group has committed to sourcing much of its food produce from local suppliers, both in Cork and across Munster, including O’Keeffe’s Bakery, ToonsBridge Dairy, Ballymaloe Foods, Barry’s Tea and Hodgins Foods. In addition, Atlantis Seafood will be operating two dedicated boats out of the west Cork harbour of Castletownbere, who will be providing locally caught fish for the ‘Catch of the Day’.
Audrey Foley, Managing Director of Compass Group Ireland, said: “We are thrilled to have been appointed the food partner for Páirc Uí Chaoimh. We are excited to introduce a new hospitality experience at the stadium, designed for the cut and thrust of match days, and outside of this, a unique and special venue for event experiences. In order to deliver this we look forward to welcoming 357 new members to the Compass Group team who will be at the beating heart of Cork GAA, fuelling supporters’ passion. We will also be showcasing the best of Cork and Munster suppliers through our restaurants and hospitality strengthening the link between the best Munster producers and the fans. We can’t wait for the first throw-in!”
