It’s gold all the way!

It’s gold all the way!

We are delighted that the Northern Ireland division of Compass Group UK and Ireland was once again victorious at this year’s Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). This marks the sixth consecutive year Compass Group has claimed gold at the RoSPA awards in recognition of our health and safety practices.

The internationally-renowned RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are the longest-running industry award scheme in the UK. Established to recognise companies’ achievements in health and safety practices including leadership and workforce participation, more than 2,000 organisations from all four corners of the globe enter the awards annually.

For Compass Group Ireland Managing Director, Chris Chidley, creating and maintaining a culture that takes safety very seriously is essential and ensuring Compass Group staff and customers are kept safe is the number one operational priority of our business.

Chris Chidley said: “Compass Group are dedicated to fostering and maintaining a safety-first culture. We are committed to providing a safe environment for all our staff and customers and are tremendously proud of our health and safety record. This means making sure our people have the right tools to do their job, in a safe environment.

As well as adhering to the strictest regulatory requirements, our own policies and standards are reviewed regularly to ensure we are continually improving and following industry best practice. Our health, safety and environment manager conducts a weekly review of safety data and works with our sector leadership teams to agree action plans as required.

It is great to see our efforts acknowledged by winning yet another gold medal at this year’s RoSPA Awards. It is fantastic recognition of the hard work of the entire Compass team and such accomplishments feed into our workplace health and safety culture.

We will continue to prioritise health and safety in the workplace and to maintaining the highest safety standards across our business. This means providing our staff with the equipment and training necessary to go about their work, confident in the knowledge that they are adequately protected against the dangers associated with working in a kitchen environment.

Only by working together as a team can Compass Group continue to set the bar for industry best practice in health and safety.”
