Danceathon 2021: Moving for Mental Health

It didn’t always feel like there were reasons to dance throughout 2021. However, at Compass Ireland, we knew it was important to rally together, support each other and get moving! In October, with help from celebrity choreographer Jane Shortall and our people across the business, that’s exactly what we did.

Supporting turn2me through dance

Putting our dancing skills to the test, we held a month-long Danceathon in support of turn2me, a mental health charity connecting people across Ireland to confidential online guidance and advice.

We’re passionate about supporting the wider Irish community and championing positive mental wellbeing, which is why we’re so proud to have raised €6,121 in total. Every €50 raised will pay for an hour of counselling through turn2me, which we hope will change the lives of many people across the country.

Bringing our teams together

Alongside supporting turn2me, our Danceathon gave our people a chance to come together and show what makes the Compass Ireland family so special.

With a new sequence released by Jane each week, our teams filmed themselves learning the moves and dancing away – either by themselves or side-by-side with their colleagues, friends and family. We even voted for our favourite dance videos to show our appreciation for everyone’s energy and enthusiasm.

Check out our Danceathon 2021 highlights to see our people shaking and shimmying through October. You’ll even spot Managing Director Deirdre O’Neill, Culinary Director Shay Kendrick and two-star Michelin Chef Kevin Thornton getting involved!
